Nestled in Washington, D.C.'s Takoma neighborhood is a one-of-a-kind pet store. Founded by business women Julie Paez and Pennye Jones-Napier in 2005, The Big Bad Woof merges green living ethics with pet supplies. It all started with Artemis, a wolf-dog hybrid, who was diabetic. Researching canine health they learned that a raw food diet would be healthier for Artemis, and that started their journey in sustainable pet supplies. The Big Bad Woof specializes in raw, natural foods and seek out local, regional, and USA-made businesses that are environmentally kind. Over the years The Big Bad Woof has been recognized in the community and the pet supply industry as a leader in sustainability. In 2010 The Big Bad Woof launched a delivery service in which boxes, styrofoam containers, and ice packs are upcycled. We accept drop-offs from the community for our delivery and shipping needs.
