It is generally safe. In fact, the area is meant for walking about — there is an easy walking path, and the ravines are crossed by sturdy pedestrian bridges — but there are also off-the-path areas of uneven rock surfaces. Even these unlevel surfaces are fairly easy to walk over, but they can be avoided if one has mobility limitations. (But if you can handle the riocks, they get you closer to waterfalls and some beautiful views.
