Stefan Scholz, MD, is director of minimally invasive surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Scholz received his medical degree from Philipps-University Marburg in Germany and completed his training in general surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Emory University Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He received his pediatric surgery training at University Hospital Mannheim, Germany, and Boston Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He concluded further training in pediatric hepatobiliary surgery in at Diana, Princess of Wales Children’s Hospital/University in Birmingham, U.K. Dr. Scholz lives in Fox Chapel with his wife and 3 children and enjoys riding his bicycle.
