Derek Serna-Gallegos, MD, is a cardiac surgeon and is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center followed by his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
