Dr. Gregory Altman is co-division director, Orthopaedic Trauma, for Allegheny General Hospital (AGH). He is an expert in the field of sports and traumatic orthopaedic injuries. He specializes in complex knee and shoulder reconstruction. Additionally, he treats complex extremity and pelvic fractures. Dr. Altman earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. After completing a fellowship at the University of Rochester in Sports Medicine, he served as a clinical fellow and instructor in Orthopaedic Trauma at Harvard Medical School/The Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to returning to his native Pittsburgh, he served as the director of Orthopaedic Trauma at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. Currently, Dr. Altman is associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Drexel University School of Medicine. He has served as the vice chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at AGH since 2007. Dr. Altman directs the Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at AHN.
