Leeds Art Gallery is well worth a visit. It mainly has exhibitions so it really depends on what they have on as whether it's worth your time. But it's free so I think it's hard to go wrong.Full review by 509waynem

Have you tried the Hepworth in Wakefield? Its a train ride away (15-30 minutes from Leeds). It's a nice gallery too. I went to Leeds Art Gallery quite a while ago, not sure if there's a major renovation. They had minor ones during the time I visited.
