The Pensacola Bay estuarine system, which also includes Escambia Bay, Blackwater Bay, East Bay, Santa Rosa Sound, and the Escambia, Blackwater, Yellow, and East Bay rivers, is 144 square miles, and it is the fourth largest estuarine system in Florida.
