There was no shallow water. I was disappointed with the snorkeling. But the whale watching was absolutely amazing on the way back

I've only done the Mala Express. Sea Maui is great: they get in the water with you, and point out cool things. (Good for the kids.) But I was disappointed by the lack of fish on my trip. …

I've only done the Mala Express. Sea Maui is great: they get in the water with you, and point out cool things. (Good for the kids.) But I was disappointed by the lack of fish on my trip. I've definitely seen more, and a bigger variety in other Maui locations. If your kids are competent snorkelers, maybe you should try out the West Maui snorkel trip. That one is twice as long. As far as booking ahead or not, it's a risk if you wait until you're there. Maybe they'll have tons of space, maybe not. I bought a Groupon, so you might want to see if there are any active ones. Also, if you book a second trip (snorkel/sunset cruise or whatever) that week with Sea Maui, I think you get a 20% discount. Have fun!

Aloha! We typically have around 30-35 people on board. We are allowed up to 48 passengers but cap our cruises to allow for some extra space and comfort. The boat has 2 big nets up front that many people enjoy laying out on, 2 large fun benches up front as well, and seating for at least 25-30 within the cabin and bar area still. There's always plenty of room and you are able to move around and enjoy different views and spaces as the sail goes on. You'll love it!
