You can book online or go in-person to get tickets, I am unsure whether on the busiest of days it may be an inconvenience to do it on the day, however I suspect it may be. Even on a Saturday, albeit a cloudy and slightly rainy one, arriving slightly before 10:00 had us enter practically alone and very seamlessly.
