You should go here. It is about 1.5 hours drive from Auckland. You go near dusk and walk into the park. Go to the forest trails and you can find Kiwi birds if you are quiet. Bring along flashlights a… Full review by 628brucep

Beautiful Park and Beaches. Lovely camp area. Great for swimming, surfing and general beach activities. Highly recommended, and close to other attractions. Full review by FarAway768695

Q:
Does anyone know if you can take a boat there even with the unsealed road.
A:
The road is sealed but there is no place to launch a boat, the nearest public launch is Baddley's and Campbell's beaches or Omaha.

A puppy is hardly a predat or but I get it and understand...

You really do need a car, other wise bike ,or Taxi if you can get one,
