Suggest down load "Grab" App on arrival. Its what many of the locals use. We found most Taxis OK but booked a car and driver for longer trips on pre agreed price. Pre arrange Hotel transfers with Hotel when booking from Australia. We found in general traders at all levels to be incredibly honest always giving correct change. Cyclo's and Taxis are the exception and even annoy the locals. Bargaining even in markets is reasonably rare and minor unlike many Asian countries. Tipping is not the norm and will often be politely refused.
