How big of a telephoto lens would I need to photograph the bears? I have a 400mm and a 200mm. Which should I take?

Mine was 18-270 and was fine. The closest you are the bears are 25 feet. You can look at my photos on etbtravelphotography to get an idea if you want. Look under Alaska

I think it would depend on your level of claustrophobia. If you can ride in a compact car I think you might be OK in the plane. Visibility is good and we had plenty of space in a 6 seat …

I think it would depend on your level of claustrophobia. If you can ride in a compact car I think you might be OK in the plane. Visibility is good and we had plenty of space in a 6 seat plane. Just remember that once you take off the pilot can’t just “pull over” to let you out. If you have significant claustrophobia you may want to take the boat.
