Any time of the year is good to travel as the sceneries varies according to each season; so your experience cannot be compared with another. However I travelled in summer. This tour can be done by yourself at a very economical rate, however you can get guidance from a local tour guide. I suggest you do that, to save time and money. I got help from “Zhangjiajie Kangtai” they are really good service providers
