Anything goes, but it really depends on the performance. Even in the Philharmonic performances, jeans are seen, especially in the summer months, but overall the dress is a bit more formal at those events. Not black tie and evening gown formal, but a nice dress or pants suit. Joanne Falletta herself tends to wear black pants suits with a fancy blouse or jacket... sometimes tuxedo style. Style comes from the top...follow her lead if you want to dress up more. A nice dress, shoes and purse are never wrong in any setting.for men, a jacket and tie is dressy....but again, nobody will kick you out for jeans, tee shirt and sneakers! Enjoy! That's the name of the game!
