The Riviera District is a district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. It has a population of 10,346. The capital of the district is Riviera. The Riviera District has an area, as of 1997, of 166.49 square kilometers. Of this area, 9.77 km² or 5.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 97.23 km² or 58.4% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 7.41 km² or 4.5% is settled, 2.9 km² or 1.7% is either rivers or lakes and 43.19 km² or 25.9% is unproductive land.
