From the Airport to the city center it is too far to walk unless you are very fit. Within the city center you can walk to the parliament and the museum but bring water, it is hot.. The statue of Christ is a 15 minutes taxi ride from from the city center, and it is advisable to ask the driver to wait why you climb the 800 stairs because there is hardly any taxis availbale out there.
