The Tubman is worth a stop to put life on the Eastern Shore in perspective. . Blackwater is a wonderful refuge and it's huge. You can see the same wildlife at Eastern Neck wild life refuge in Kent County and take in the history at Chestertown. Also, Rock Hall has some nice restaurants and shops. Both are closer than Dorchester County. Check the Kent County/Chestertown website for events that might be happening when you're planning your trip. Also, Easton has plenty of shops and is a gateway to Oxford and St Michael's. If you're set on going to Tubman, then you might want to go further south to Chincoteague and its attractions.
