Went here as part of a group tour. All very worthy and informative, but somehow not very engaging. There's a standard ten-minute film about how Mt Fuji was formed, and lots of informstion boards and…Full review by Andy F

A place to learn more about Mt.Fuji. Inside, you walk up the circular slope, pretending to climb Mt.Fuji. There are information along the way to read what it is like to really climb it. There is a s…Full review by Teruminz
Hi I'm travelling to Japan later this year and would like to visit lake kawaguchiko and spend the following day in fujinomiya. Are the two easily connected by rail way or would it be better to go back to Tokyo inbetween. Thanks in advanced

You could take a car or taxi between the two like we did. I am not sure about trains connecting the two locations that easily
To see all the exhibitions etc., how much time would you suggest we spend here? And are there restaurants around the Center for lunch? Thanks, J

Great question. I would leave 3 hours so you have time to 1. wait for fickle Mt. Fuji to appear, 2. to go to the Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha. On way there we found a small area of restaurants and outdoor seating. We had terrific time there and then walked to shrine. Fujisan showed itself again while we were there. The museum is terrific. There is a cafe, but it was not really worth it. The town could be explored if your train is later. I think we left 4 hours total and were very happy we did. You could leave less if time is short, bring food and skip the "search". However, the time passage gives opportunity for the elusive mountain. The museum is really great. The passage up is like climbing the mountain and you arrive at a place where you can see Mt. Fuji. When we went, Fujisan was hiding, so we went back down, saw the movie, and when we got back up to the top, there it was in all its glory!!! Loved it. Glad we did it.
