The St Catherine Academy was established in Belize on January 20, 1883. We are an All-girls Catholic educational institution with a tradition of academic excellence, concern of women and women's issues. We believe in compassionate service to the poor, spiritual growth and development, and world vision and responsibility. The first missionaries were accomplished women from New Orleans, Louisiana, who provided quality education, a tradition that faculties down through the century have continued to preserve. They taught the regular school subjects of religion, reading, writing, arithmetic, geography, history, and nature study. There were also lessons in fine sewing, drama, music and choral. Today, our facilities include computer labs, school library, bookstore, basketball court, volleyball net, football, and softball field. We also offer private school bus, LCD projector and peer helpers. At St Catherine Academy, we are well known for the educational excellence of our students.
