Friday's clash with WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk was supposed to be about 25-year-old Davis' attempt to capture his first world championship but has taken a significantly nastier turn as the fight has approached.

Davis, the 25-year-old American, defeated Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk by knockout and claimed the WBO world lightweight title. The finishing blow was a body shot in the fourth round that left Berinchyk kneeling on the canvas as the referee reached the count of 10.

It was a Valentine's Day to remember for Keyshawn Davis. The undefeated American captured the WBO lightweight title in front of a sellout crowd Friday night in New York.
