More tragic news from California. The fires that have been ravaging the southern part of the state for over two weeks have claimed 28 lives so far. Unfortunately, the threat is not diminishing, and California authorities have decided to evacuate residents near San Diego.

At least 27 people have died in the Eaton and Palisades fires, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner said Thursday evening. Seventeen of the deaths are from the Eaton Fire in Altadena and 10 from the Palisades Fire, according to the medical examiner.
