A group of AARP volunteers in Raleigh called the Cupid Crew spread love to thousands of Wake County seniors on Valentine's Day by delivering flowers and cards.

Roughly 300 roses, letters and cards were given out to the families and staff at the Grace Lutheran Community in Altoona this afternoon. The Cupid Crew as they are called was made up of students in University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Health Care Administration and Music Therapy Group.

The volunteer group spent the day delivering roses and cards to residents in community centers, retirement homes, and churches. The effort is part of an annual event coordinated by AARP's Wish of a Lifetime Foundation, which aims to connect older adults at risk of isolation and spread love. Similar visits took place at locations nationwide.
