Authorities say the suspect in the car-ramming attack in Munich that injured 39 people appears to have had an Islamic extremist motive, but there’s no evidence that he was involved with any radical network.

At least 28 people have been injured after a car drove into a demonstration in Germany’s third biggest city of Munich on Thursday. Local politician Markus Söder described the incident as a “suspected attack”.

A car drove into a union demonstration in central Munich injuring at least 28 people including children, authorities said. Bavarian governor Markus Soder said the incident on Thursday was “suspected to be an attack”.
