Chipmakers Qualcomm and Arm post sales rise on smartphone strength
Despite beating revenue forecasts, Qualcomm shares were down more than 4.5 per cent in after-hours trading, while Arm shares were about 6 per cent lower. Shares in both groups have rallied over the past year, setting a high bar for their quarterly earnings reports.

For its current fiscal second quarter, Qualcomm forecast sales range with a midpoint of US$10.75 billion and adjusted profits of US$2.80 per share, both above analyst estimates of sales of US$10.34 billion and adjusted profit US$2.69 per share, according to data from LSEG.
