Michael Saylor believes Bitcoin is the first “properly engineered store of value” and could absorb $15 trillion annually lost to inflation and asset decay.

Strategy founder Michael Saylor said at the annual CPAC conference that the U.S. should seek to stockpile 20% of the Bitcoin supply.

Michael Saylor, the founder of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), has urged the United States to hold 20% of the overall Bitcoin supply to ensure its future dominance. “There’s only room for one nation-state to buy up 20% of the Bitcoin network, and obviously, I think it should be the United States; I think it will be the United States.”

Strategy, the self-styled Bitcoin Treasury company that until recently was called MicroStrategy Inc., said it acquired $742.2 million of the digital asset over the past seven days, resuming weekly purchases that began in late October.

MicroStrategy, now rebranded as Strategy, purchased 7,633 Bitcoin last week, after a brief respite in which the firm paused new acquisitions. The company, the world’s largest corporation holding Bitcoin on its balance sheets, now has 478,740 Bitcoin — more than 2% of Bitcoin’s total supply of 21 million.
