A former Sony exec has shared insights into the ongoing strategies for the console maker in porting games over to PC.

The Old West is the great American fairytale, a time and a place mythologized as it was still happening by circus-like Wild West shows – in which real-life figures, such as the Indian-scalper Buffalo Bill, reenacted their exploits on stage – and dime novels.

A former PlayStation boss has equated Sony bringing its games over to PC to 'printing money' that can then be used to invest in new titles.

Porting to PC is cost-effective for Sony, providing additional income to invest in new titles amid rising game development costs. In the past few years, Sony has been ramping up its PlayStation first-party games production on PC, with some games even releasing simultaneously on PlayStation devices.
