Steven Ashworth banked in a 3-pointer from a difficult angle with 5.8 seconds left as Creighton won its seventh straight game with a wild 62-60 victory at Villanova on Saturday.

With his Creighton team trailing Villanova, 60-59, with under 10 seconds remaining, an out-of-bounds play was drawn up for Ashworth, and he made it count, giving his team the lead with a huge three-point make.

The Wildcats (12-10, 5-6) were led by Wooga Poplar, who recorded 24 points and five steals. Eric Dixon added 17 points. Jordan Longino also had eight points. Temple 98, East Carolina 94 >> Jamal Mashburn Jr. scored 32 points and Steve Settle added seven in overtime.
