The PGA Tour confirmed that commissioner Jay Monahan and Adam Scott met with President Donald Trump Tuesday to discuss “the future of men’s professional golf.”

PGA Tour Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan is thanking President Donald Trump for helping the tour close in on a deal with the Saudi backers of LIV Golf.

"We asked the president to get involved for the good of the game," Monahan and player directors Adam Scott and Tiger Woods said in a statement. "We are grateful for his leadership has brought us closer to a final deal.

In a statement, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and player-directors Tiger Woods and Adam Scott said the US president’s involvement could reunify the game of golf through an agreement with the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

The PGA Tour thanked President Donald Trump for intervening in its previously futile efforts to broker a business agreement with LIV Golf.

Tour officials said the session at the White House “brought us closer to a final deal” that would be subject to Justice Department antitrust scrutiny.
