California Fire Map Shows Areas in Greatest Danger As New Blazes Erupt
Several counties in Southern California faced "critical" fire risks this week, according to an AccuWeather forecast.

There are no evacuation orders in place now for the Eaton and Sepulveda Fires in LA County, the Clay Fire in Riverside County or the Laguna Fire in Ventura County. Evacuation orders were in place for areas near the Laguna Fire but have since been changed to evacuation warnings, according to Cal Fire.
California Wildfire Map Update Shows How Every Fire Burning Has Spread
As of Thursday afternoon, six active wildfires are burning in Southern California, and maps shared on the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) website show how each one has grown. At least 28 people have died in the Los Angeles area since multiple wildfires erupted, and thousands of people have fled their homes.

The deadly fires, two of the most destructive on record in California, started Jan. 7 on a day of extremely high fire danger due to a Santa Ana windstorm. More than 27 deaths have been reported in the fires, burning in the Pacific Palisades area on the Los Angeles County coast and Altadena area northeast of Los Angeles.

Firefighters are responding Wednesday to a brush fire in Rancho Bernardo. The fire started around 8:55 a.m. near Bernardo Center Drive and Camino del Norte, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue, which was responding alongside Poway Fire.
