Quick thinking by a deputy got a Macomb County family's dog away from potential danger after a house fire began. Police said two men were working at a construction site in the 3400 block of West Ogden Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.

The incident began at 12:39 p.m. Monday when the female homeowner called 911 to report a dryer fire and possible structure fire at  home on Brentwood Street, off of Fairchild Road north of Hall

Quick thinking by a deputy got a Macomb County family's dog away from potential danger after a house fire began.

A caller also told dispatch that she had placed the family dog outside on his tether prior to calling 911 and that no one else was in the home. After securing the homeowner away from the home, deputy Eric McCombs rushed toward the house and calmly secured the dog.
