A Richmond man was taken into custody by Richmond Police following a a three hour standoff on McDougal Avenue on New Year’s Day. No one was harmed or injured as a result of the standoff.

Don Steven McDougal agreed to a plea agreement to avoid the death penalty for killing Audrii Cunningham in February 2024. As part of the agreement, McDougal won't be able to appeal or seek parole.
