Brave New World" is losing momentum at the box office, even during a muted winter weekend with only a smattering of new releases.

The MCU movie is approaching the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office. It collected $35.3 million on its second weekend overseas, the same as Shang Chi’s $35.2 million. It has hit the $148.2 million cume internationally over 53 markets. Adding to the film’s domestic gross, it has reached the $289.5 million global cume.

Captain America: Brave New World had a strong opening weekend but faced a steep 68% drop in box office sales in its second week. Several critics and audiences were disappointed with the movie, with many feeling it focused too much on Red Hulk and not Captain America.

The South Korean box office saw “ Captain America: Brave New World ” retain the top spot for a second consecutive weekend, though its earnings declined. Meanwhile, animated horror thriller “ Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning ” debuted in second place.

While critic reviews and the movie’s Cinemascore spell bad news for Captain America: Brave New World in general, we now have actual box office numbers.

As per Variety, Captain America: Brave New World has already grossed $289.4million worldwide, with $141m coming from the US and the rest from international territories. That’s a big start for a movie with a B- CinemaScore and a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score. However, it also has a verified 80% audience rating.
