After months of calling double-hinged devices “tri-folds”, Samsung swept in during Galaxy Unpacked with a new name that makes much more sense, and yet apparently never occurred to any of us – long live the multi-fold.

During Galaxy Unpacked launch event for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung showed off what appeared to be a roadmap of future devices, which included an outline of a tri-fold folding phone.

During Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung took a moment to talk about new form factors like its upcoming triple-screen foldable.

Samsung is set to release a triple folding phone along with four other folding phones in the Z series during the third quarter of 2025.

The Korean company announced today that it will launch a new trade-in program that doesn’t require the purchase of a new handset. The “Galaxy Easy Compensation” scheme will pay Korean Galaxy phone owners money for their old device, with values fluctuating depending on the condition. Crucially, no purchase of a new phone is needed.

Samsung's first tri-fold device is expected to be the highlight of its 2025 lineup. This innovative device will feature two hinges, allowing for a significantly larger display—potentially between 9.9 and 10 inches—bringing it closer to the size of a Galaxy Tab.
