Canada’s service sector experienced a second successive monthly decline in business activity. In January, the headline Business Activity Index recorded 49.0. That was slightly up on December’s 48.2 but nonetheless represented a marginal contraction of service sector output for a second month in a row.

Spain's services sector continued to expand in January, although at a slower pace than in December, as new business volumes rose sharply, according to a survey by S&P Global.

ISM Services PMI dipped to 52.8 in January from 54.0 in December (revised from 54.1) and falling short of the consensus estimate of 54.0, indicating that the service sector expansion slowed from the prior month.

Germany's service sector began 2025 on a positive note, with business activity growth reaching a six-month high and employment seeing a modest rise, a survey showed on Wednesday. The HCOB final services Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 52.

India's services sector expanded at its slowest pace in over two years in January 2025, as new business growth weakened and demand momentum softened, according to the HSBC India Services PMI data released on Wednesday.
