The brother of the late New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was sentenced Friday to 18 months of prison time already served for threatening to carry out a shooting at the University of Connecticut and to kill three people including a judge in 2023.

The judge ordered three years of supervised release where he must stay away from all UConn properties, including Rentschler Field, and submit to drug testing.

Dennis John Hernandez was sentenced to 18 months, time already served, after he made interstate threats and threatened a shooting at UConn, officials said.
