State wildlife officials really want Texans to know that they'd better not try to mess with white-tailed deer. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced Thursday that two individuals—a deer breeder and his business partner—illegally tried to smuggle captive deer from an East Texas facility to parts of South and Southeast Texas.

A Texas deer breeder and his partner were caught trying to smuggle improperly identified white-tail deer, also known as "ghost deer," across the state, according to a release from the Texas Parks and Wildlife.
