Vidarbha produced a clinical performance to thrash Tamil Nadu by 198 runs on the penultimate day of the quarterfinal encounter.

Runners up of the last edition, Vidarbha, are into the semifinals once again after they handed a thrashing to Tamil Nadu in the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. It will now be a rematch of last year's final when Vidarbha will face Mumbai in the semifinal.

Despite Jaiswal's absence, Mumbai will not name a replacement for the semi-final, as they already have experienced players in the squad, including Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Shardul Thakur.

Vidarbha, who had won six and drawn a game to top their group, were off to an uninspiring start losing their first three wickets for 61 runs before India player Karun Nair struck 29 and then Rathod struck an unbeaten half-century, his sixth in first-class cricket, to guide his team to safety.
