Miami Beach authorities have ramped up efforts to maintain order during spring break by introducing advanced drone technology and a sophisticated real-time monitoring system.

The new airborne first responder, the Skydio X10 drone, is the first of its kind in Florida and is meant to make sure spring breakers keep calm and carry on, preferably somewhere else. Police showed off the department’s new first responder drone, which gives officers an aerial view of any area of the city within a minute of launching.

Miami Beach police are taking to the skies to crack down on rowdy spring break crowds. The new airborne first responder, the Skydio X10 drone, is the first of its kind in Florida, according to a report from NBC affiliate WTVJ.

The drone, a first-of-its-kind in Florida, comes with 850 cameras.

Steve Maugeri reports the police department's new real-time intelligence center and drone program will allow them to monitor and respond to incidents quicker, particularly during the high-impact spring break weekends through March.
