Dana White is no fan of last-minute withdrawals, and his decision to withhold an immediate title shot for Arman Tsarukyan has drawn Daniel Cormier's attention.

The ride to UFC 311 had some last-minute bumps in the road when would-be lightweight title challenger Arman Tsarukyan suffered a back injury Friday that forced his withdrawal from a main-event rematch with champion Islam Makhachev, resulting in a Renato Moicano detour on a day's notice.

Arman Tsarukyan falling out of UFC 311 cost him a shot at the lightweight title and now he has to get back in line.

UFC's first pay-per-view event of 2025 was supposed to feature a hotly anticipated lightweight title rematch between champion Islam Makhachev and Tsarukyan. With a win, Tsarukyan would've avenged a unanimous decision loss to Makhachev he suffered in his UFC debut six years prior. However, because of an untimely lower back strain, it never happened.
