The Cleveland Browns promoted their old tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator and hired Christian Jones to replace him.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is turning to a familiar face to fill one of the most important roles on his coaching staff. Christian Jones will be the new tight ends coach, a source confirmed for cleveland.com.

The Browns are expected to hire former New York Giants assistant coach Christian Jones to be their new tight ends coach.

Two years after joining the Browns’ staff as a senior offensive assistant, Musgrave has been promoted to quarterbacks coach. There is a great chance he has been working with quarterbacks over the past two years (the Browns have hired a quarterbacks coach just one time since 2020) but is now in the role officially.

Jones then joined the staff of Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka in 2022 as the Giants’ assistant quarterbacks coach. New York has struggled with inconsistent quarterback play over the last few years, but Jones pulled a few impressive performances out of undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito in 2023.

The Browns are hiring Christian Jones as their next tight ends coach, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Jones spent the 2024 season as the Giants assistant quarterbacks coach and will now reunite with Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland.
