One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Harnett County. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the wreck happened at the intersection of 3 Bridge and Fairground roads.

The NC Education Lottery said Harnett County also received a $10 million state grant, with money raised by the lottery, to help build a new elementary school.

Harnett County school officials said the bus was carrying 11 students from Harnett Central High School at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
