Hvar is very much party central. Set in the Venetian fortress ... Carpe Diem is probably the most famous nightspot in Croatia, riding the wave in high-end tourism over the last two decades.

Thanks to nearly 300 sunny days a year, Hvar is also abuzz with outdoor events, including the annual Summer Festival, held between June and September to celebrate Croatia's musical heritage.
