New Yorkers awoke Sunday to up to four inches of snow — with even more fallings in some parts of the tristate area. And even more could be on the way this coming week. Following a night of heavy snow, sleet and ice, New York City’s Central Park recorded 3.1 inches of snow by Sunday morning.

Snow, sleet and ice hit the Tri-State Area on Saturday, and now the cleanup is underway before things freeze over.

Within the five boroughs, the most snow fell in the Bronx, where 4.6 inches was measured in Fordham, according to the National Weather Service.

New York City saw its heaviest snowfall of the season Saturday night into Sunday morning, leaving more than three inches of powder across the city in what meteorologists warn is just the beginning of a snowy week.

The Big Apple could get up to 5 inches of snow overnight Sunday and as many as 8 inches in the suburbs, leading to treacherous road conditions leading into Super Bowl Sunday as more snow storms are expected to barrel through later in the week.
