Singing "we shall overcome," LGBTQ Iowans shared a message of hope at the Capitol on the heels of a GOP law taking away trans Iowans' civil rights.

The mayor of a major city also protested the ban by lighting up the city building in rainbow colors. One teacher said he won't follow the new ban.

An LGBTQ advocacy group is urging Gov. Spencer Cox to veto a bill that would prohibit certain flags in classrooms, but the governor seems to favor the measure.
