"If you drive along the Ontario shoreline of Lake Erie, you see evidence of receding bluffs, and that's because those bluffs are being battered by winter waves. When we have ice cover, it protects the shoreline against erosion."

Lake Erie ice-coverage continues to increase and it's now at 91 percent. Lake Erie has the highest ice-coverage since January 2022. Still enough open water for some lake effect snow.

The National Weather Service, Coast Guard and at least one local fire department is warning people to stay off the ice on Lake Erie Monday as conditions could be “dangerous.”
