The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, has accused Israel of weaponising humanitarian aid with its blockade of goods and electricity into Gaza. Speaking in Geneva, Philippe Lazzarini warned of a renewed hunger crisis if aid supplies did not resume.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights condemned Israel for killing Palestinians and blocking aid to Gaza, labeling these actions as war crimes, according to Al Jazeera. Israeli forces have killed at least 58 Palestinians,

The move was apparently part of a bid to force Hamas into accepting a temporary extension of a cease-fire and releasing more hostages.

At Prime Minister’s Questions, Sir Keir Starmer said the blocking of aid into Gaza risks breaching international law.
