In continuing to publicly cop to the failure of BioWare’s latest release, EA CEO Andrew Wilson has admitted to investors

“In order to break out beyond the core audience, games need to directly connect to the evolving demands of players who increasingly seek shared-world features and deeper engagement alongside high-quality narratives in this beloved category,” Wilson said in an investor call.

Three months have now passed since BioWare finally saw the long-awaited release of its new RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the game has reportedly failed to meet EA's sales expectations since then – series veterans say that doesn't mean it should've launched as a live service title.
