Investigation underway in fatal UMMC helicopter crash
Two UMMC employees and the pilot died in the crash: Dustin Pope, a flight nurse and the base supervisor for AirCare in Columbus; Jakob Kindt, a critical care paramedic from Tupel; and Cal Wesolowski of Starkville, a pilot with Med-Trans, which leases helicopters to UMMC.
Victims identified in Mississippi medical helicopter crash
A University of Mississippi Medical Center representative identified the three victims as Calvin Wesolowski of Starkville, Jakob Kindt of Tupelo, and Dustin Pope of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Wesolowski, 62, was a Med-Trans pilot. Pope, 35, was the base supervisor for AirCare in Columbus and a flight nurse. Kindt, 37, was a critical care paramedic.
