Many expect the San Francisco 49ers will commit to finalizing a high-value extension for Brock Purdy soon, with The Athletic's Dianna Russini confirming it.

General manager John Lynch in his season-ending press conference indicated the team was committed to Purdy as its franchise signal caller. If that’s the case, working to hammer that deal out before the team reports for OTAs in mid-April would behoove the 49ers.

Though there have been questions regarding how much Purdy should earn, 49ers legend and Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice confidently believes that Purdy is the "guy" for the franchise, and wants his former team to get an extension done with Purdy as soon as they can.
