Killer AHL mascot goes down in flames. RIP, "Scorch" Scorch, the mascot for the Adirondack Flames, died in a blaze of, er, glory, last weekend before appearing in his first game for the team.

The team’s name was born from a fan vote and owner Howard Dolgon came up with the idea for a superhero as the club’s mascot. Landing at 29 in THN’s AHL logo rankings is the Syracuse Crunch.
